Acceptance Criteria

Procedures for Accepting and Offloading Non-Hazardous Wastewater

  1. Prior to receiving any first-time delivery of wastewater, the generator must submit the following for review and approval:
    • A completed PPV Material Characterization Profile Form for review
    • An analysis of the waste stream performed by a Certified Laboratory
    • A sample of the waste stream for treatability testing and analysis by PPV

If PPV confirms that the waste stream is non-hazardous and treatable at the PPV plant, PPV’s chief operator may sign and date the Material Characterization Profile Form as approved.  No wastewater is accepted for treatment without prior approval from PPV.

  2. Shipment of approved waste streams shall be scheduled with PPV by phone or email.  Normal delivery hours are 7 AM to 7 PM Mon-Fri and 8 AM to 5 PM on Saturday. However, PPV accepts deliveries 24 hours, 7 days/week by appointment.
  3. Deliveries shall only be accepted from properly licensed transporters.
  4. For security reasons, the driver shall remain with the vehicle at all times (during prepatation, sampling and offloading).
  5. Upon arrival on site,  the truck shall weigh in on the scale and then procede to the offloading area.
  6. Once at the designated offloading area the PPV operator shall pre-screen the sample to confirm compliance with the Material Characterization Profile on record.
  7. When it is confirmed that the sample from the load matches the Material Characterization Profile and the original sample, the truck will be allowed to offload.
  8. The PPV operator shall complete the Sample Log Sheet/Receiving Record for documentation of the delivery, and file it in the Daily Operations Log.
  9. Retain samples shall be held by PPV for one month from the date of delivery.
  10. Once the offloading is complete, the PPV operator shall sign the trucker’s Bill of Lading and release the truck to leave the offloading area.
